Review laws relating to public filming intended to humiliate, bully or profit

Open for signatures 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Launch a review into laws relating to public filming intended to humiliate, bully or profit, which looks into closing any loopholes that allow people to secretly film and harass vulnerable people for hate and profit.
We feel current laws are too weak and need to be updated to protect victims and prevent exploitation. We believe there are individuals and groups that are weaponising public filming to target women, children, LGBTQ+ individuals, and minorities. Many film without consent, share content to spread hate and profit, and cause real harm psychological trauma, fear, and even real-world violence.

We believe this isn’t an isolated issue - it’s a growing trend across the UK and we need stronger protections now as current laws are failing to stop it.
