Establish a public inquiry into the operational performance of CQC staff & Board

What the petition asks
The Government must set up an independent statutory public inquiry under the Inquiries Act 2005 into the operational and regulatory performance of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) staff & Board over the last decade. We feel they have failed in their duty & responsibility & must be held to account.
Recent independent reviews have shown that the CQC is failing in its duty to safely regulate NHS services. Some of these operational failures have resulted in patients harmed or dead. A full statutory inquiry must investigate how the CQC's leadership, inspection models, and internal cultures failed to identify or act upon systemic NHS abuses and substandard care. We believe the public and NHS patients deserve to see the CQC staff, executives and Board held accountable for their failure to keep people safe from harm.
