Prevent animals from working or travelling in temperatures over 30 degrees

What the petition asks
We believe animals should be protected from working and travelling in hot weather conditions which can cause extreme suffering and death. It is outrageous to us that cows and pigs were transported, and that events like horse racing and agricultural shows went ahead during June's 36 degree heatwave.
Dogs can die in hot cars even with the windows open - so can pigs and cows transported in lorries in hot weather. They very often have no access to water, and are routinely deprived of food as this makes the slaughter process easier and cheaper. Responsible owners don't take their animals out to events in extreme heat because they know the risks; unfortunately there are always those who do not put the animals' welfare first. Legislation needs to be put in place to stop animals working & travelling in temperatures over 30 degrees.
