Extend mandatory calorie labelling to all food businesses including SMEs

What the petition asks
We call on the Government to require all restaurants, cafés and takeaways to display calorie information for all menu items, regardless of the size of those businesses. Consumers currently lack consistent access to basic nutritional data when eating out.
Consumers currently receive inconsistent nutritional information when eating out, making it difficult to make informed dietary choices. While supermarkets provide full calorie labelling, restaurants and takeaways often do not. Modern tools allow calorie values to be easily calculated quickly and accurately using standard recipes and ingredient data. We believe that requiring all businesses, including small independents, to display calories, would improve transparency, combat obesity, and support public health.
