To ensure all candidates for any public office are required to commit to equal treatment of all constituents, using the framework of legally defined protected characteristics. To be overseen by an independent and impartial office holder to prevent any discrimination and protect our communities.

Our public servants must lead the way on fair and equal treatment of all British citizens. Signing a declaration to commit to equal treatment should go some way to deterring those unable to act in line with the interests of all their constituents from standing for election. To deal with cases in which a party has failed to properly vet their candidates, we require an independent official to remove anyone whose language or policies do not comply with clearly defined required standards.
