What the petition asks
We want the Government to launch a review into strengthening the Hunting Act 2004, which includes closing loopholes that allow hunting with hounds to continue under exemptions, looking into whether current penalties are strong enough, and improving enforcement and prosecution of illegal hunting.
We ask the Government to review and strengthen the Hunting Act 2004 to ensure it is fully effective in preventing the illegal hunting of wild mammals with hounds. It should look into closing any loopholes that allow hunting with hounds to continue under exemptions, and improving enforcement so suspected illegal hunting can be properly investigated and prosecuted. It should also consider whether current penalties are sufficient to deter hunting activities and whether stronger sanctions are needed.
