Require UK-trading companies to provide a contactable phone number

Open for signatures 35 signatures

What the petition asks

Many companies operating in the UK have removed all phone contact options, forcing customers through chatbots, forms, or endless email chains. We call on the Government to legally require any company trading in the UK to provide a working phone line to speak to a human agent.
Most companies are removing phone support entirely leaving customers unable to resolve urgent issues or complaints without speaking to a human. This disproportionately affects elderly and disabled people, and anyone without reliable internet access.
We believe any company legally trading in the UK should be required to provide a working telephone number, allowing customers to speak with a live agent within a reasonable time, and ensuring companies cannot hide behind automated systems.
