Fund specialist chronic illness flare-up centres in every county

What the petition asks
Fund dedicated, county-level chronic illness flare-up centres to manage acute flares for conditions like PoTS, Crohn’s, and Colitis. Hubs could offer rapid access to IV fluids, anti-nausea medication, pain management, and direct-to-ward admissions to reduce A&E wait times and infection risks.
GPs and specialists cannot provide immediate, same-day intervention, forcing vulnerable patients into emergency departments. A&E doctors often lack specialized training in complex chronic illnesses, leading to suboptimal care and dangerous exposure to infectious viruses. These centers could safely assess clinical risk, treat and discharge stable patients, or provide direct inpatient admissions. This targeted expert care could improve outcomes and save spaces in general emergency departments.
