Lack of jobs for newly qualified nurses

What the petition asks
England’s newly qualified nurses are graduating into unemployment despite ongoing NHS staffing shortages. After years of unpaid placements and significant student debt, we deserve the opportunity. We call on the Government to guarantee funded Band 5 posts for every newly qualified nurse.
We call on the UK Government to guarantee every newly qualified nurse in England a funded Band 5 NHS post after registration. Student nurses spend years in unpaid clinical placements and often leave training with debt, yet many now graduate into unemployment because of recruitment freezesThis wastes public money, damages morale, and leaves patients and NHS staff facing even greater pressure. We need action now so trained nurses can start caring for patients instead of being left without jobs.
