Require mobile networks to explicitly state expiration dates on saved voicemails

Open for signatures 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Mandate that UK mobile network providers explicitly state and notify customers of the exact deletion date whenever a customer saves a voicemail, either through an automated voice prompt or SMS alert at the point of saving.
Telecom companies delete saved voicemails after a short period without what we believe to be sufficient transparency. This leads to irreversible loss, such as final messages from deceased loved ones. Many users may naturally assume that selecting "save" secures a file indefinitely. We believe requiring network operators to clearly communicate expiration limits—via an automated voice prompt or an SMS alert at the point of saving—will help ensure transparency, support vulnerable customers, and help prevent further emotional distress during bereavement.
