Automatically reject irregular asylum claims and reward documented entries

What the petition asks
We want the government to change the law so that anyone entering the UK outside of official border points without documentation to automatically have their asylum claim rejected.
Individuals presenting at official ports of entry with correct documentation should be accorded full due process.
Individuals presenting at official ports of entry with correct documentation should be accorded full due process.
We call on the Government to change the law so that anyone entering the UK illegally outside official border control points, including by small boat, without permission or valid documentation, is not eligible to claim asylum. This would help deter dangerous crossings, disrupt people-smuggling gangs, strengthen border security, encourage lawful routes, reduce pressure on the asylum system, and increase public confidence in a fair and effective immigration system.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what you mean by "correct documentation".
You could start a new petition calling for asylum seekers to be required to have a passport or form of ID in order for their claim to be processed, if that's something you'd like to see.
