What the petition asks
The Government should invest universal in early years centres providing parenting support, speech and language, health visitor access, breastfeeding support early intervention. Early support can improve school readiness, reduce inequalities and help families before problems become crises.
Sure Start centres provided an invaluable service to families and communities by offering accessible, preventative support during the earliest years of a child's life. We believe the Government should restore a network of Sure Start-style centres across England to give every child the best possible start and ensure parents can access support. Sure Start centres offered practical help, including health visitor access providing opportunities for children to develop social skills before starting
