Ban local authorities from approving driven piling near existing homes

What the petition asks
We ask the government to change planning legislation and national planning policy so that local planning authorities cannot approve the use of driven piling near existing residential properties as part of the planning process.
Driven piling causes constant, prolonged significant noise and low/high constant infiltrating vibration leading to loss of peace and enjoyment in residents’ homes. Mental wellbeing is greatly affected and very quickly.
We are concerned that LPAs currently have discretion to approve devs. that include driven piling even where lower-impact methods are available.
We believe the govt. should remove this discretion and introduce prohibitive national rules to stop driven piling close to homes.
