Legalise cannabis for adults, take action on past convictions, fund compensation

Open for signatures 710 signatures

What the petition asks

Legalise cannabis for adult use, require that criminal records for non-violent cannabis offences be expunged, require a review of past convictions and driving disqualifications, and establish and fund compensation for people who have been harmed by prohibition.
We believe cannabis prohibition has harmed patients, families and communities while helping to fuel organised crime. We want the Government to legalise and regulate cannabis for adult use, require that criminal records for non-violent cannabis offences be expunged, require a review of past convictions and driving disqualifications which we think were affected by outdated cannabis laws, and establish and fund a fair process to compensate those who have been harmed by prohibition.
