What the petition asks
We call on the Government to fund NHS access to Lecanemab & Donanemab on prescription for those with early-onset dementia, Familial Alzheimer's Disease and those who are asymptomatic, but carry a genetic mutation that will result in early onset Dementia.
Lecanemab & Donanemab are drugs licensed by the UK’s MHRA, for the treatment of mild Alzheimer's symptoms. It is clinically proven to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease. Clinical trials showed they slowed the onset of people with early Alzheimer’s Disease.
Nearly 1 million people live with Dementia in the UK, costing the economy an estimated £42 million per year.
Familial Alzheimer’s disease accounts for less than 1% of all Dementia cases. People who carry that genetic mutation will develop Alzheimer’s Disease symptoms before the age of 65.
