What the petition asks
Veterans are being told that they have to pay thousands back to the MoD after a disastrous pension error occurred, estimated to be around £5.1 million.
I’m calling for the MoD to have the pension overpayments written off, as the Veterans were not at fault for the incorrect calculations.

Pensions were overpaid for years due to the error, and in some cases Veterans owe back more than £100,000. The problem was first identified by the MoD two years ago, but Veterans have only received letters this year detailing the money they owe. The Forces Pension Society said that there are 398 cases linked to incorrect National Insurance modification rules. The issue has been described as a “failure of leadership, oversight, process and quality assurance”
