Review Funeral Expenses Payment rules for people in full-time work

What the petition asks
I want the Government to review Funeral Expenses Payment eligibility so that people like me, who work full-time but cannot afford an unexpected funeral, can receive support based on their actual financial circumstances rather than being excluded because they do not receive a qualifying benefit.
I was refused Funeral Expenses Payment because I work full-time and do not receive a qualifying benefit, despite being unable to afford my father’s unexpected funeral due to limited savings, a mortgage and bills. I believe the rules unfairly assume that being employed means people can afford these costs and should consider income and financial circumstances rather than receipt of benefits.
