Fund barriers and cameras to make bridges and motorways safer

Open for signatures 77 signatures

What the petition asks

Sadly, there are around 50 suicides per year on roads in the UK. We feel that there should be more funding put towards making bridges and motorways safer, to prevent people losing a family member/friend.
The Government should fund higher barriers on bridges & cameras on access points that might alert emergency services when they see someone on a motorway bridge. Such bridges might have pedestrian gating access ways with a code that only emergency services have. Every day thousands of people experience a crisis so I believe that extra funding may help people a bit more. My family and I lost my sister to suicide and we don't want others to feel the grief we do.
