Burning of Effigies and Fishing Vessel Log Books
The motion
That the Parliament notes the burning of fishing vessel log books at demonstrations in Peterhead and Hopeman on 12 March 2001; notes that the press release advertising these demonstrations was issued by the SNP; condemns the destruction of log books and in particular, the burning of effigies of the Deputy Minister for Rural Development, Rhona Brankin, at those demonstrations, and calls upon Alex Salmond and Margaret Ewing as local MSPs to condemn those actions and to apologise for their party’s role in promoting those demonstrations.
