Link Between Racist Comments and Racially Motivated Attacks on Muslims
The motion
That the Parliament utterly condemns the racist attacks on Muslim citizens which are increasing both in Scotland and south of the border; further condemns the attacks on four worshippers at Eccles Mosque in Salford and on Imam Mohammed Shamsuddin at his mosque in Hillhead, Glasgow; believes that such attacks are a direct consequence of anti-Muslim hysteria whipped up by elements of the press and headline-seeking politicians, and calls on all those in public life to stop giving comfort and encouragement to racist thugs.
