Roslin Institute
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the team of research scientists based at the Roslin Institute, Midlothian, for their groundbreaking work in producing chickens that, through genetic modification, have the capability to support the production of drugs to fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases; considers that this development should lead to the greater availability of less expensive drugs for use in combating a number of the major diseases affecting societies throughout the world, and further notes that this breakthrough confirms the international status of the Roslin Institute at the cutting edge of scientific research.
