Cadet 150, Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates all those involved in the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the start of the Cadet movement, which was commemorated at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on Wednesday 18 August 2010 when the Cadets in Scotland paraded the colours and banners of the Sea Cadet Corps, the Marine Cadets, the Army Cadet Force, the Air Training Corps and the Combined Cadet Force; recognises the important role played by the cadet movement in developing socially responsible and active young people, and acknowledges the opportunities offered to young people, many of whom struggle to engage with traditional education, to develop their skills and knowledge in a manner considered entirely consistent with the four key capacities of the Curriculum for Excellence.
