University of Edinburgh Most Energy Efficient Supercomputer
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the University of Edinburgh on its work to develop the world’s most energy-efficient supercomputer; understands that, working with IBM and Columbia University, a team of physicists from Edinburgh has been working for the last three years on the chip design of IBM’s next generation BlueGene prototype computer, and understands that the BlueGene/Q prototype has been judged the world's most energy-efficient supercomputer and ranked in first place on the supercomputing Green500 List.
