Modernising Scotland’s Transport Infrastructure, Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century
The motion
As an amendment to motion S4M-08270 in the name of Keith Brown (Modernising Scotland’s Transport Infrastructure, Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century), leave out from "welcomes" to end and insert "recognises the work required in the transport sector and the need for a fully developed infrastructure investment plan with defined project timescales to meet the challenges of the 21st century and believes that these challenges include re-regulating the bus market to better serve the travelling public, reducing journey times, increasing capacity and increasing the frequency of rail journeys between Scotland's cities, improving public transport links between Scotland's city centres and airports, improving connectivity, including by road, and increasing the opportunities for active travel to stimulate the economy now, securing long-term sustainable growth and providing a modern and efficient transport system, giving people a choice and helping secure a low-carbon economy."
