Responding to Welfare Reform
The motion
As an amendment to motion S4M-09209 in the name of Margaret Burgess (Responding to Welfare Reform), leave out from second “considers” to end and insert “notes that the number of children in poverty, which, under the last UK Labour administration, fell in Scotland by over 200,000, is forecast to rise by the end of the current parliamentary session, and further notes the findings of the Scottish Government’s Expert Working Group on Welfare, which concluded that the best way for benefits to be delivered in Scotland is through a system jointly administered with the rest of the UK.”
