Alcohol Awareness Week
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Alcohol Awareness Week 2015 will run from 16 to 22 November, with the theme, the Impact of Alcohol on Health and Society; understands that issues regarding alcohol are increasing and that more schoolchildren are getting drunk; believes that men are not meant to drink more than three to four units in a day, and women should have no more than two to three; understands that Alcohol Concern works throughout the UK to try to change the conversations and attitudes that people have regarding alcohol; acknowledges that the charity sets campaign goals designed to reduce the harm caused by alcohol misuse, and understands that it also seeks to raise awareness and encourage behaviour change through campaigns such as its call for evidence-based health warnings on alcohol labels and by training health and social care professionals to provide early identification and to provide alcohol advice to their clients.
