NHS PPP/PFI Contracts

That the Parliament understands that cost savings achieved on NHS PPP/PFI contract terms, negotiated via teamworking between the Scottish Futures Trust and Health Facilities Scotland, will recover around £20 million over the 27-year lifespan of the projects, which represents a reduction of around 0.37% on the overall project costs; compares this with the level of cost savings expected of local authorities over the last year and years to come, and considers that, if unsupported local government departments are called on to achieve cost savings of around 2% to 5%, the £400,000 annual funding commitment to the specialist support team might be expected to produce a little more bang for its buck.
