Swan Gold Medal for Wick Professor

That the Parliament congratulates Professor Iain Baikie, who is the founder of the Wick-based KP Technology, on being presented with the Swan Gold Medal; understands that this is in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the application of physics in an industrial or commercial context; believes that he is the first Scotland-based winner of the award; recognises what it sees as his, and his firm’s, contribution to science in the far north through the Caithness International Science Festival; believes that getting more children and young people involved in science and technology is essential, and applauds efforts to make it exciting and fun.
