The Dundee Academy of Sport

That the Parliament supports the work of the Dundee Academy of Sport, which is a partnership between Abertay University and Dundee and Angus College; believes that it is an example of what can be achieved through innovative partnerships between the higher and further education sectors; congratulates it on having worked with 22,000 attendees from 81 primary and secondary schools across Tayside and Fife and engaging them in various learning through sport initiatives; believes that this approach encourages those who might otherwise not be attracted to further and higher education to consider continuing their studies and helps develops a strong community workforce for the sport and leisure industry, and urges the Scottish Government, Scottish Funding Council and other bodies to continue to support the academy in its excellent work.
