Coming of Age for the East Kilbride Relay for Life
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of East Kilbride’s annual 24-hour Relay for Life on its 21st anniversary; notes that the 2018 event will take place at the John Wright Sports Centre on 15-16 June to raise money for Cancer Research UK; understands that this remarkable achievement makes it the longest-running such relay in Scotland; praises the hard work of the organisers, volunteers and fundraisers in bringing the community together as part of the wider Relay for Life movement, which aims to commemorate loved ones who have died and to celebrate the lives of the survivors who are at the heart of the initiative; hopes that the participants enjoy a sunny day, and looks forward to the next 21 years and beyond of fundraising for Cancer Research UK, as it continues with its pioneering work.
