Castle Community Bank, Leith Branch
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Castle Community Bank on the opening of its new branch in Leith; notes that the bank is a financial co-operative that is owned and run by its members; understands that membership is open to everyone who lives or works in the Lothian area; commends it on its aim of being an accessible, affordable and relevant financial institution that promotes financial inclusion; wishes it every success its efforts to be an affordable, ethical and co-operative institution, and notes the calls for the Scottish Government and local authorities to look for ways to ensure that there are ethical and affordable alternatives to high-interest money lenders and loan sharks on the country's high streets.
