HIV Scotland, Winner of Cracking Campaign Award at SCVO Charity Awards 2018
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates HIV Scotland and the PrEP for Scotland campaign on winning the Cracking Campaign Award at SCVO's Scottish Charity Awards 2018; recognises the leadership role of HIV Scotland and its work bringing together experts, the third sector, clinicians and academics to campaign for PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis), which led to Scotland becoming the first part of the UK to make PrEP available on the NHS; understands that since it was made available around 1,600 people are accessing the drug, which prevents HIV, and looks forward to HIV Scotland continuing to play an important role in Scottish civic society with further innovative campaigns and policies to reduce new HIV transmissions to zero.
