Job Farm Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the initiative of the president of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, Job Farm Scotland; notes that, with 2018 being the Year of Young People, the society's president, Sir Crispin Agnew of Lochnaw, and his team have developed a new digital resource to promote opportunities in the rural economy for exciting and rewarding futures, which aims to make young people aware of the wide range of careers and jobs in agriculture, the food industry, science and rural business, understands that jobfarm.org shows the variety of roles and opportunities that exist beyond the farm gate and guides those interested to work experience opportunities; hopes that, during the Year of Young People, the resource can be further developed to be able to assist young people from all over Scotland; welcomes the launch of this initiative, which is timed to take place before the 178th Royal Highland Show at Ingliston from 21 to 24 June 2018, and notes that details of the show can be found at royalhighlandshow.org.
