Desley Stickle BEM
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Desley Stickle on being awarded a BEM for services to the community in Unst in the 2019 New Year's Honours List; recognises Desley's dedication to community projects and the key role that she has played in organising UnstFest, the UK’s most northerly festival, the bingo club and the yoal rowing club, which has been reinvigorated in recent years; considers the award thoroughly deserved and recognises the importance of these projects in making Unst such a vibrant community; wishes Desley future success with her latest venture, which is running the Balta Light pub, and looks forward to her enjoying further success in 2019 and beyond.
