Edinburgh Airport's Record-breaking Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh Airport on what it understands has been the busiest year ever for a airport in Scotland; notes that it recorded over 14.3 million passengers in 2018, a rise of 6.5% on the previous year; understands that this boost was due to a 9.5% increase in international passenger numbers and domestic growth of 1.9%; believes that the airport is worth almost £1 billion to the economy annually; considers this continued growth to be welcome news for Lothian and Scotland; welcomes the opportunities created through increased connectivity for businesses and the boost to the tourism sector, with more people traveling to and from the country, and wishes Edinburgh Airport continued success.
