Young Start Funding in Mid Scotland and Fife

That the Parliament congratulates the organisations in the Mid Scotland and Fife region that have recently received Young Start funding totalling £325,801; understands that Young Start is a multi-million pound programme delivered by the Big Lottery Fund, which awards money from dormant bank accounts to projects that help children and young people thrive and realise their potential; commends Perth & District YMCA, which received £79,243 to develop a digital skills hub for young people, PLUS, which is based in Stirling and received £64,213 to increase access to volunteering opportunities and mainstream recreational activities for young people who have a range of additional needs, Coach My Sport, which received £58,345 to establish an employability programme aimed at young people in the Forth Valley are who are disengaged from school or who are not in education, employment or training, Freuchie Cricket Club, which received £36,000 to improve young people's mental and physical health through a series of interactive workshops on various health-related topics and year-round cricket coaching in north east Fife, and Pink Saltire, which received £88,000 to deliver a three-year project working with 50 LGBT young people each year; acknowledges the continued work of all these organisations, and wishes them every success with their projects.
