Congratulations to Rosemount Development Trust on Lottery Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Rosemount Development Trust on receiving £8,250 through the Awards for All Scotland programme of the Big Lottery Fund; notes that the trust aims to aid regeneration by working closely with organisations and communities through engagement and consultations; understands that work undertaken by the trust includes the Royston Community Vision and Action Plan, which looked at how Royston could progress as a neighbourhood over the next 10 to 20 years, building on the achievements of all Royston's local organisations; notes that this is an ongoing project and has a number of successes, including refurbishment of a number of workshops and business premises and further promoting job opportunities for local residents; understands that it is a key organisation that seeks to empower the community and various groups and organisations within Royston over many years; notes that the trust has also played a significant role in driving forward regeneration projects in the area with other partners within the Royston Strategy Group; acknowledges that the money will go towards supporting a 10-year development strategy, and considers that this is a clear indication and acknowledgement of the strategic importance of Rosemount Development Trust to continuing to empower the communities within Royston.
