Big Lottery Funding for Covey

That the Parliament congratulates Covey Befriending on receiving £81,542 from the Big Lottery Fund, which will allow its Covey ANGELS project to continue for another three years; commends the project, which facilitates social opportunities through weekly befriending and support, enabling young people with additional support needs to build meaningful relationships with young volunteers from local schools in South Lanarkshire; understands that 20 young people and 14 volunteer befrienders will benefit from this project and activities and outings designed around the needs and goals of each young person, and appreciates the important contribution befriending makes toward building stronger communities and tackling social isolation and loneliness.
