Aberdeen Hydrogen Buses Hit the Million-mile Mark
The motion
That the Parliament recognises that Aberdeen’s fleet of hydrogen buses has now completed more than one million miles since the vehicles were introduced to the city’s streets in 2015; understands that the Aberdeen Hydrogen Bus Project is delivered by Aberdeen City Council, with support from the Scottish Government, the UK Government and the EU; notes that it consists of 10 buses, which are owned by the council and operated by Stagecoach and FirstGroup; understands that the city is also home to Scotland’s first commercial-scale hydrogen production and refuelling stations at Kittybrewster and Cove; welcomes the success of the project in reaching the million-mile mark and reducing carbon emissions and air pollution, and notes the hopes for more hydrogen-powered vehicles being used in Aberdeen and across Scotland.
