EVOC’s 150th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the contribution of EVOC (Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council), in its 150th anniversary year, to fighting for social justice and improved conditions for Edinburgh’s citizens; acknowledges the pivotal role that the organisation has played in the development of Edinburgh’s charity and voluntary organisations; notes EVOC’s historical links with prominent figures such as Dr Elsie Inglis and Flora Stevenson, and notes the view that continuing to work with third sector organisations will improve the lives of Edinburgh residents.
