Jordan McKenzie from Wishaw, Representing Scotland at the Young Chef Olympiad
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Jordan McKenzie, who is from Wishaw and is studying for an HND in Professional Cookery at the City of Glasgow College, on being selected to represent Scotland at the Young Chef Olympiad 2019, which is being held in India; notes that Jordan was selected after winning the 2018 Country Range Student Chef and the Atlantic Cup challenges; acknowledges that he will be mentored throughout the competition by the senior chef lecturer and Scotland’s national chef, Gary MacLean; notes that Scotland has been drawn in Group C of the competition, with Jordan competing against chefs from Cambodia, Botswana and Switzerland; recognises that the Olympiad has been running for five years; notes that this year’s opening ceremony will take place in Delhi, the competition will be held in Pune and Bangalore and the closing ceremony takes place in Kolkata, and wishes Jordan well with the competition, his studies and his future endeavours.
