Dive Team Allowed Access to HMS Royal Oak for Anniversary Survey Project
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes news that permission has been granted for a survey of the official war grave of HMS Royal Oak; understands that a team of volunteer divers will now document the site using 3D photogrammetry to build a highly-detailed digital model; further understands that this project will further raise the profile and understanding of the sinking of HMS Royal Oak in Scapa Flow in 1939 with the tragic loss of over 800 sailors; recognises that this work is particularly fitting on the 80th anniversary of its sinking, and wishes everyone involved with this project the best of luck.
