Chinese Community Development Partnership Celebrates 25th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Chinese Community Development Partnership (CCDP) on its 25th anniversary, which was celebrated during the Chinese New Year Celebrations 2019 that were held at the Maryhill Community Central Halls; notes CCDP was established in 1994 to address the needs of the Chinese community, establishing an effective link between service providers and members of the Chinese community; understands that CCDP is an umbrella body consisting of Chinese organisations including the Glasgow Chinese School, Glasgow Chinese Christian Church, Kat O Buddhist Association, Glasgow Chinese Women’s Association, Wing Hong Elderly Centre, Chinese Parents’ Association, Chinese Active Life, Chinese Carers Group, Glasgow Chinese Badminton Club, Glasgow Chinese Basketball and Tai Chi Club, Glasgow Hong Lok Dragon and Lion Dancing Troupe, Glasgow Oriental Dancing Association and the Strathclyde Chinese Association; believes that CCDP has excelled in bringing the Chinese community together to celebrate all aspects of Chinese culture and language, as well as promoting and encouraging integration, and thanks all of those involved in CCDP’s continued success.
