Centre for Robotics PhD Students Funding

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics, which is run by Heriot-Watt University and the University of Edinburgh, on the news that it is due to receive £18 million to expand its successful EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Robotics and Autonomous Systems; notes that the funding from EPSRC and industry will train 90 PhD students over the next eight years; highlights that the funding will help to attract international and home-grown talent as the centre’s international reputation continues to grow; believes that the funding further strengthens the centre’s reputation at the heart of the nation’s robotic and autonomous systems strategy, and wishes the centre and its staff continued success as it develops the National ROBOTARIUM.
