Buchanan Galleries to Provide Free Period Products
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes news that Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow has become the first shopping centre in Scotland to provide free period products to visitors; understands that the products will be made available for free via a newly-installed vending machine; considers this to be a progressive step that helps to tackle period poverty and reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation; believes that Buchanan Galleries is setting a positive example in alleviating period poverty and normalising access to period products in Scotland, and encourages other organisations across Scotland to consider taking action, and agrees that access to period products is a necessity and not a privilege.
