Bridge of Don Academy's Drive to Increase Health and Wellbeing of Pupils
The motion
That the Parliament commends the Bridge of Don Academy in Aberdeen on its introduction of comfort closets and a breakfast club as part of the school’s drive to increase the health and wellbeing of its pupils; recognises that the initiative will provide any pupil with necessary toiletries, including sanitary products, so that they can attend school without poverty at home acting as a barrier to their education; notes that these initiatives are supported by Pupil Equity Funding, which is administered by the Scottish Government; regrets that pupils face poverty-related barriers to achieving their full potential, and wishes the school every success in its efforts to alleviate poverty and close the poverty-related attainment gap.
