Delays and Cancellations to ScotRail Services
The motion
That the Parliament notes with regret the delays and cancellations to train services by ScotRail, in particular since October 2018, including those experienced by passengers from Dumbarton, Alexandria and Helensburgh; understands that peak-time services have often been short-formed so that three carriage sets have replaced six-car trains on some rush hour services; believes that, although peak-time services command higher fares, passengers using these are getting a lesser service; considers that it is unsafe for passengers to be crammed in like sardines; understands that the transport secretary has stated that capacity issues are included in the ScotRail franchise agreement, and notes the view that the Scottish Government should ensure that there is a robust performance target so that short-formed trains become a thing of the past on Scotland's railways.
