Unicef Award for NHS Lanarkshire Health Visiting Services
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Lanarkshire’s health visiting services on being re-awarded the Baby Friendly Award from Unicef; notes that this award is given to services that display best standard practices to protect, promote and support breastfeeding and to strengthen mother-baby and family relationships; understands that the Baby Friendly Initiative, set up by Unicef and the World Health Organization, is a global programme that provides a practical and effective way for health services to improve the care provided for all mothers and babies; commends the hard work and dedication of the health visiting services within NHS Lanarkshire, and wishes everyone involved well for the future.
