Musselburgh’s Staggs Bar Takes CAMRA Crown
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Musselburgh’s Staggs Bar, also known as The Volunteer Arms, on coming first in the Lothian section of the 2019 Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) Pubs of the Year; notes that the bar has a record of similar achievements, including being named the best pub in Scotland and Ireland for the third time in 2018, having previously won the title in 1998 and 2016; understands that in 2018 the bar celebrated its 160th anniversary of being in the same family after opening in 1858, and wishes all involved with the bar success in the competition to be named overall Edinburgh and South East Scotland winner, with an announcement expected in mid-March 2019.
