The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the funding provided for two groups in the Falkirk area from the Scottish Government’s Smarter Choices, Smarter Places Open fund, which was launched in June 2018; notes that Forth Environment Link will benefit from £50,000 to develop active travel plans in Grangemouth, Bainsford and Camelon through its project, Walk Cycle Falkirk, and that the Braveheart Association, which is based at Falkirk Community Hospital, has been awarded £17,160 for its Smart Move initiative, which helps improve health and fitness by encouraging people to become more socially involved; acknowledges that these initiatives aim to tackle the environmental impact of travel by helping to reduce people's carbon footprint; believes that this brings a positive impact on communities, protects the environment, promotes social inclusion and boosts health and fitness; congratulates both groups on these awards, and looks forward to hearing of their continued success.
